Abstract
To investigate current research trend on alcohol use and smoking behaviors and future directions for further studies in this area, this study conducted systematic literature review applying the theory of planned behavior. Studies that published to June in 2018 were searched through academic online database including KISS, DBpia, E-Article, and Scholar. Only empirical studies that researched alcohol use and smoking behaviors building study models based on the theory of planned behavior. Out of 4,389 studies from database search, 14 studies were finally included for review. General characteristics(published year, study methods, gender, etc), alcohol use and smoking behaviors, and study models(fundamental?modified models) were analysed. In results, first, the studies confirmed the importance of subjective norms and control of perceived behaviors influencing alcohol use and smoking behaviors. Secondly, there have been various modified models of the theory of planned behavior applied in the studies. Based on the study findings, this study made some suggestions to improve the theory of planned behavior, and practice and policy implications for alcohol use and smoking prevention.
